Insidious: La Porta Rossa, scheda del film di Patrick Wilson, è il quinto capitolo della saga horror e si svolge 10 anni dopo gli eventi del secondo film. Verrà esaminato ciò che è accaduto ai Lambert un decennio prima e quali sono state le conseguenze dell'accaduto.
Josh (Patrick Wilson) accompagna suo figlio Dalton (Ty Simpkins), giunta all'età di college, in una delle prestigiose università dell'Ivy League, site sulla costa est. Purtroppo, però, il sogno di andare al college del giovane si trasforma in un incubi, quando inizia a essere perseguitato da alcune visioni. Dalton scopre così che i demoni del suo passato sono tornati a perseguitare non solo lui, ma anche suo padre.
Per metterli a tacere una volta per tutte, Josh e Dalton dovranno intraprendere un viaggio nell'Altrove, affrontando i terribili orrori che si nascondono dietro la porta rossa, pur di mettere in salvo l'intera famiglia.
