A causa degli imprevisti effetti di una misteriosa tempesta magnetica, una portaerei atomica americana dei giorni nostri, la 'Nimitz', torna indietro nel tempo e si ritrova nel 1941, proprio alla vigilia dell'attacco giapponese alla base hawaiana di Pearl Harbour.
