Nope, è il film diretto da Jordan Peele, racconta la storia di Oj ed Em (Daniel Kaluuya e Keke Palmer) due fratelli che vivono in una gola della California, dove gestiscono insieme al padre, Otis Haywood Sr. (Keith David), un ranch di famiglia. Quando il genitore muore, venendo colpito da un nichelino caduto inspiegabilmente dal cielo, OJ ed Em ereditano la proprietà. Mentre il primo cerca di mantenere l'attività paterna per preservare l'eredità del genitore, la seconda spera di trovare fama e celebrità a Hollywood.
Ben presto, a causa di una serie di imprevisti, i fratelli Haywood si ritrovano pieni di problemi finanziari e, come se non bastasse, i cavalli sembrano svanire nel nulla, mentre quelli ancora presenti sono nervosi e hanno reazioni violente. Oj si vede costretto a vendere alcuni cavalli a Jupe Park (Steven Yeun), che di recente ha aperto un parco nella gola.
Convinta che ci sia qualcosa di extraterrestre che abbia a che fare con i cavalli, Em convince OJ a installare delle telecamere nel ranch nella speranza di capire cosa sta accadendo e di registrare un video che possa farli arricchire. Solo dopo si rendono conto che c'è una nuvola in cielo, che sembra non spostarsi mai... cosa nasconde?
