TRAMA ROBOCOP
RoboCop è un film del 1987 diretto da Paul Verhoeven.
La vicenda è ambientata a Detroit in un futuro distopico. Per fermare la criminalità e la corruzione che attanagliano la città, la multinazionale Omni Consumer Product (OCP) finanzia il progetto per un cyborg di pattuglia, ‘RoboCop’.
Nel frattempo, l’onesto e coraggioso poliziotto Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) e la sua risoluta collega Ann Lewis (Nancy Alles) si scontrano con la banda criminale di Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith), e Murphy rimane ucciso.
La OCP coglie l’occasione per realizzare il robot progettato da Bob Morton (Miguel Ferrer), risanando il corpo del poliziotto con protesi meccaniche e un avanzato sistema informatico, che controlli il suo danneggiato sistema celebrale.
RoboCop è pronto ad entrare in azione e, grazie alle sue strabilianti doti, viene ben presto osannato dalla popolazione locale. Ann è l’unica a riconoscere la sua vera identità, che si sta facendo strada nel cyborg, costringendolo a rivivere alcuni dei ricordi di Murphy.
Mentre svolge il suo impeccabile lavoro contro i criminali, RoboCop si imbatte in uno degli assassini di Alex Murphy e decide di indagare sull’uomo del quale possiede i ricordi. RoboCop inizia raccoglie infromazioni sugli assassini del poliziotto e, seguendone le tracce, irrompe in una fabbrica di cocaina. Qui, il cyborg fa giustizia, dopo aver sottratto a Clarence un’importante confessione.
Il criminale, infatti, è in combutta con Dick Jones (Ronnie Cox), capo della sicurezza della OCP, il cui progetto fu bocciato a favore di quello di Morton. RoboCop decide di arrestare Jones ma il sistema informatico celebrale glielo impedisce, rendendolo facile preda dei collaboratori di Dick. In suo soccorso arriva Lewis, che gli svela la sua vera identità e lo conduce sul luogo dell’omicidio di Murphy.
Jones, tuttavia, ha intenzione di eliminare il potente giustiziere…
