Gli animali già protagonisti del primo episodio e provenienti da uno zoo di New York si ritrovano nelle remote spiaggie del Madagascar, dove alla fin fine si sentono estranei. Per risolvere il problema e fare ritorno alla città architettano un piano folle. I pinguini riparano così un vecchio aereo fracassato che però, una volta decollato, resta in volo giusto il tempo necessario per raggiungere uno dei luoghi più selvaggi della Terra: le vaste pianure africane. Qui, i membri dell’improbabile ciurma, tutti cresciuti nello zoo di New York, s’imbattono per la prima volta in alcuni esemplari della loro specie. L’Africa sembra un posto straordinario… ma siamo sicuri che sia meglio della vecchia casa in Central Park?
