Il perfido visir Jaffar fa arrestare il giovane re di Bagdad, Ahmad. In prigione Ahmad conosce il simpatico ladruncolo Abu con il quale riesce a evadere. Intanto la principessa (di cui Ahmad si è innamorato) è fuggita per non sposare Jaffar. Il visir però riesce a far catturare Ahmad e lo acceca mentre trasforma Abu in un cane.
