Trama:
Un criminale nazista viene fatto evadere appositamente dal carcere alleato perché raggiunga un suo ex superiore e consenta così di identificarlo. La polizia infatti non conosce i connotati del malvagio gerarca; sa solo che ha la passione per gli orologi. Sulle tracce dell'evaso un detective arriva in una tranquilla cittadina degli Stati Uniti, dove uno stimato professore sta per sposare la figlia di un notabile. Il professore sta riparando il vecchio orologio della chiesa...
