Jason, un aspirante cineasta, vuole realizzare un horror indipendente in un bosco con alcuni amici. Durante la prima notte i ragazzi sentono alla radio delle notizie incredibili su cadaveri che tornano in vita e attaccano gli esseri umani. Malgrado le violenze e la paura, Jason tiene sempre con sé la videocamera, con cui documenta l’orrore che incombe. Le sue riprese diventeranno il documentario intitolato The Death of Death, ovvero il film che stiamo vedendo.
