Il detective Anthony Stowe di New Orleans, drogato e violento, da anni sta cercando di incastrare il suo ex partner Gabriel, divenuto un boss del crimine. La retata che ha organizzato non va buon fine, e la sparatoria si risolve in una carneficina. Anche a casa le cose non vanno bene: la moglie gli confessa di essere incinta, ma non di lui.
