Per concludere i loro studi i due elaborano allora un piano singolare: Hesse si farà inoculare un ovulo, sottratto con l'inganno alla "collezione" della dottoressa Reddin, per poi fecondarlo artificialmente e sperimentare quindi in vivo il farmaco.
