Trama:Bruno, un presuntuoso giovanotto motorizzato, incontra casualmente un giovane universitario, timido e inibito, e lo trascina con sé durante un lungo ferragosto. L'aggressività, il volgare e dirompente saper vivere di Bruno respingono ed insieme affascinano lo studente. Bruno vive di espedienti, è separato dalla moglie, sua figlia è una ragazza che si appresta a sposare un anziano industriale. Vicende e incontri vanno e vengono, legati dal lungo filo della mania automobilistica di Bruno.
