Trama:Due poliziotti della narcotici dal carattere opposto: Ray Tango (Stallone) veste un doppiopetto inappuntabile, è occhialuto e distinto come un yuppie; Gabe Cash (Russell) è un capellone in jeans e dai metodi piuttosto sbrigativi. Devono lavorare insieme per smantellare un traffico di droga, ma il boss sul quale indagano li fa imprigionare. I due amici riescono a evadere dal penitenziario attraverso le fogne. Il film, diretto con polso dal russo immigrato Michalkov Konchalovskij, è di puro intrattenimento e presenta due personaggi pittoreschi. Una vivace variazione sul tema della strana coppia di sbirri.
