In una camera d'albergo di Chicago c'è Della Roberts, una squillo al lavoro. Nella camera accanto un gruppo di trafficanti di droga sta per essere incastrato dalla polizia. Si risolve tutto in un massacro che coinvolge anche Linda, salvata all'ultimo momento dal poliziotto Frank Church. Ma lei quel killer l'ha visto e adesso ha paura. Nel frattempo Church è stato espuso dalla polizia e fa il sorvegliante in un grande magazzino. Della lo incontra e lo assume come guardia del corpo.
