La storia è quella di Davide Bias (Riccardo Scamarcio) un creativo pubblicitario col sogno di scrivere qualcosa di bello, di vero. Convive quotidianamente con ansia e insoddisfazione: per tenerle a bada, solo le pillole. Neanche la fidanzata Silvia (Cristiana Capotondi) sa come sollevarlo dalle sue insicurezze. Quando il padre, uno sceneggiatore di film di serie B, improvvisamente muore, da Milano il giovane si trasferisce a Roma dove incontra la bellissima Ludovica (Sharon Stone), un’editrice interessata a pubblicare un libro autobiografico che il papà di Davide aveva intenzione di scrivere....
