Lewis, studente al college, è da sempre innamorato di Venna, sua ex compagna di scuola, e decide di andarla a trovare attraversando in auto il Paese. Durante il tragitto Lewis incontra suo fratello maggiore Fuller, appena uscito di prigione, che decide di unirsi a lui. Giocando con la radio CB fanno uno scherzo ad un camionista, conosciuto come "Chiodo Arrugginito", ma troppo tardi si rendono conto che si tratta di uno psicopatico che si mette sulle loro tracce per vendicarsi.
