Reduci dal funerale di un vecchio gerarca del "ventennio", quattro giovani neofascisti - Fabrizio, Franco e Micky, d'estrazione borghese, e Alfredo, commesso d'origine meridionale - compiono una bravata contro i "rossi" del liceo Beccaria. Più tardi, dopo una sosta in un bar di Piazza San Babila - il loro "covo" -"rimorchiano" una ragazza, Lalla, che Marco impotente, violenta con un manganello. Picchiano, dopo il passaggio di un corteo di scioperanti, un "rosso" rimasto indietro. Decidono, quindi, di compiere un attentato dinamitardo in una sede sindacale di Sesto Marelli, ma la bomba non esplode (a Marco è mancato il coraggio di accenderne la miccia). Tornati a Milano, si abbandonano a una provocazione goliardica per cui finiscono in questura accusati, ma subito rilasciati, di atti osceni in pubblico. A San Babila infine, adocchiata una coppia di fidanzati comunisti, la uccidono a coltellate. Ma questa volta, grazie alla testimonianza di Lalla - cui Fabrizio ha dato il suo coltello perché se ne sbarazzasse - per i quattro delinquenti non ci sarà scampo.
