Julia, una donna affetta da una malattia che la porta a perdere progressivamente la vista, trova Sara, la sorella gemella, a sua volta malata e già cieca, morta impiccata nella cantina della sua casa. Potrebbe sembrare un suicidio, ma Julia pensa possa invece trattarsi di un omicidio e decide pertanto di indagare in proprio, entrando in un mondo oscuro che sembra nascondere una misteriosa presenza. Mentre Julia comincia a scoprire una terribile verità sulla morte della sorella, la sua vista va peggiorando. E le cose si complicano.
