Shelby Oaks - Il Covo del Male, il film diretto da Chris Stuckmann, segue la disperata ricerca di Mia (Camille Sullivan) per ritrovare sua sorella Riley (Sarah Durn), scomparsa misteriosamente senza lasciare traccia, ormai dodici anni fa.
La sua ossessione la porta a indagare sul passato della sorella, scoprendo grazie al ritrovamento di una vecchio video registrato su nastro, che faceva parte di un gruppo di cacciatori del paranormale. Le tracce la conducono fino alla misteriosa e inquietante città di Shelby Oaks, dove il confine tra ciò che è reale e ciò che non lo è comincia a svanire. Man mano che Mia scava più a fondo nei segreti di quel luogo oscuro, scopre una serie di morti misteriose e un agghiacciante dubbio si insinua nella sua mente. Il demone immaginario a cui lei e Riley credevano da bambine, un mostro che pensavano essere solo frutto della loro fantasia, potrebbe essere diventato tragicamente reale. La donna si ricorda infatti che Riley, la notte prima della sua sparizione, le aveva confessato di aver visto un uomo alla sua finestra.
La ricerca di Mia non è solo una lotta contro il tempo per ritrovare sua sorella, ma anche una battaglia interiore contro la paranoia e la possibilità che le sue paure più profonde, risalenti all'infanzia, siano reali e terrificanti. In questo viaggio, Mia si ritrova ad affrontare una verità sconvolgente, mettendo in discussione tutto ciò in cui ha sempre creduto.
