Trama:
Partigiano e poi collaboratore di un giornale di sinistra, Silvio Magnozzi (Sordi) cerca di mantenere nella vita la sua coerenza politica. Finisce così in miseria, va in carcere e alla fine è lasciato anche dalla moglie Elena (Lea Massari) e dal figlio.
