Taxi Driver, è un film del 1976 diretto da Martin Scorzese. Il protagonista della vicenda è il ventiseienne Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) che, a seguito delle atrocità vissute durante la guerra del Vietnam, vive in uno stato di profonda alienazione nella grande metropoli di New York, acuito da croniche crisi d'insonnia.
Travis fa il tassista notturno, trascorre le sue giornate sfogando il suo malessere su un diario e l’unico svago che riesce a concedersi consiste nell’assistere alle proiezioni di film a luci rosse.
