Unchosen, è un thriller psicologico ambientato all’interno della Fellowship of the Divine, una comunità religiosa immaginaria che vive separata dal resto della società. Qui la tecnologia è limitata, i contatti con l’esterno sono vietati e le donne devono restare sottomesse agli uomini. Chi vive fuori dalla comunità viene considerato “non scelto”, quasi una minaccia da cui tenersi lontani.
Al centro della storia c’è Rosie, interpretata da Molly Windsor, una donna apparentemente devota che vive con il marito Adam e la loro figlia seguendo regole rigidissime. Adam, interpretato da Asa Butterfield, appare inizialmente come un uomo fragile e tormentato, incapace di proteggere davvero la propria famiglia e sempre più schiacciato dalle aspettative della comunità.
