Trama:Nell'autunno del 1953 Katherine Watson, un'insegnante di storia dell'arte idealista e testarda, si trasferisce dalla California al campus del college femminile di Wellesley, nel New England. Il prestigioso college è estremamente conformista ed educa le giovani donne affinché diventino perfette casalinghe sacrificando al matrimonio le loro carriere e aspirazioni.
